India might not be a good market even for the most advanced and quality Hybrid cars, but the pioneer of Hybrid cars and the world’s top selling company Toyota has made its decision to launch the all new Camry Hybrid in India. India’s Toyota Kirloskar motor had earlier announced the imminent introduction of the Hybrid variant of the Camry, which already has an existent petrol model successfully selling in India. Though the official launch date is yet not confirmed it is very evident that the Camry Hybrid will launch within the next month that is September, 2013.
When it comes to the Hybrid cars, the first name that emerges in the mind is the Toyota Prius which has almost become synonymous with the term Hybrid. This world acclaimed Prius Hybrid also has presence in India as a signature of Toyota though this very popular car is also a timid seller in India. However, Toyota has not given much attention to the Indian consumers’ lack of interest in the hybrid cars and is going ahead with the launch of the Camry Hybrid with a commendable belief that quality green car’s will be appreciated by the Indian consumers sooner or later. Toyota is also very confident about the gorgeous and performing Camry with the Hybrid Synergy Drive system under its hood.
It is already a known fact that the Hybrid and the petrol variants of the Camry sedan are very similar in terms of looks. Nevertheless, the Camry Hybrid does boast of several features that mark it apart from its petrol counterpart. The most distinctive features of the Camry Hybrid is its different front grill, alloy wheels and off course an exclusive logo.
Toyota has already introduced the new Innova facelift in the Indonesian car market. This new Toyota Innova is expected to be launched in India sometime in 2014, in order to beat the growing market competition. The Innova is also a class leader in India but it does require some new changes to be full braced against the new rival models.
Meanwhile, Toyota Kirloskar is going through a bad phase of sales decline similar t most of the other car makers operating in India. Toyota has already scheduled week long production shutdown in its factory to cut down stock build-up. Toyota India is focus on its used car business which is very strong and also plans to expand the business in the current year.
The dull car market of India is further stiffening rivalries among the car companies, who are battling among themselves to provide better new car and loads of offers for their existing models. Thus, Toyota also is on the right track with the decision of launching fresh cars in the market. The Japanese car major is also expected to bring in a new compact SUV in India, called the Rush to compete in the immensely potential mini SUV segment of India.
Thus with new cars up its sleeves, Toyota seems to be bracing up for some pumped up volumes.
