Toyota Etios Liva TRD Sportivo Review

The Liva is one of the best sellers of Toyota India, the company aimed to introduce newer versions with the limited edition model designed with the sporty language. Toyota has now introduced another sporty make of the Liva with the TRD Sportivo, the interesting part about the cars launch is besides exterior modifications and new fitments, and the company has introduced a powerful 1.5 liter engine that can churn impressive engine output of 89 Bhp.  This is one of the strategies employed by the company to boost sale volumes.

The main reason for introducing the Sportivo is to enhance the engine capacity to a new level; the 1.5 liter engine inserted into the car can be compared to the 1.2 liter power train in the Brio. The Kerb weight is admirable with a weight ratio of 96.2 Bhp in a tone of fuel which is slightly lower than 96.3 Bhp for one tone of fuel in Polo.

The gear shift ratio contributes to the excellent acceleration capacity of 0 to 100 Kmph in just 11.88 seconds. The motor functions brilliantly with low torque. The mid acceleration speed is amazing and the engine runs smoothly at mid speeds. The car can cruise 60 Kmph in 4.79 seconds which is swifter than Polo. The supreme acceleration capacity makes this car a pleasurable commodity to drive at all speeds and gears with ease. Toyota India has built the TRD Sportivo model to perfection taking into consideration the minute essential details such as vibration, noise and jerkiness.

The company has sculpted the Sportivo impressively, the suspension steering and brakes and chassis is designed to function efficiently in all road conditions. The main drawback is the steering is on the slightly heavier side. The suspension is decent adopted from the Liva, the supreme grip is contributed by the powerful 185/60 R15 tires which also prevents roll overs, and the handling prevents unnecessary speedy drivng. This car can be driven smoothly even on unfavorable surfaces, the road and tire noise is minimal, which can be attributed to the quality suspension and better insulation.

Some of the interesting fitments are side skirts, rear spoiler, classy alloy wheels with grey polish, front and rear bumpers with an ideal sporty language attached to it. The cabin is revamped with a neatly carved black dashboard and front seats are decked with the neatly framed TRD Sportivo theme. The loaded model is fitted with whistles and bells, with two DIN audio system with USB, power windows, aux ports and a pair of air bags. The only missing features are power mirrors and climate control devises. The sporty effect is visible on the steering wheel as well. An interesting point to note is the larger power train is not fitted under the small car excise duties formulated by the Government. The car is priced at Rs 6.13 lakhs which is a credible buy for its remarkable acceleration capacity, luxurious interior fitments and supreme engine efficiency.
