Toyota Rush to take on EcoSport

The compact SUV segment is growing at an enormous pace in India as carmakers are launching mini MUV’s to satiate the hunger of MUV buyers who are bound by a budget to adhere to. While Toyota Rush is soon to be launched in India, Ford has already launched the EcoSport amid much hype. Though both the compact MUV’s can be compared on various grounds, we take a look at the exterior and interior styling of the two cars.

Toyota Rush SUV

Exteriors

Toyota Rush seems to be getting positive reviews for the exterior styling. The exteriors sport a sporty, rugged look and features a large bumper and front grille along with turn signal, aero kit, sleek integrates stop, rear bumper with aero kit, rear reverse lamps, spare tyre on the rear with a chrome look and rugged cover, rear protector for bumper to minimize scratches, door handles with chrome finish, bold front projector headlamps and fog lights, door visor to ensure rain water does not enter inside, sleek door trim, retractable and foldable wing mirrors equipped with turn indicators, chic rear spoiler, large roof rail, highly mounted LED stop laps and sporty 16-inch alloy wheels.

Before launching the EcoSport, Ford had announced that this compact MUV will be a sub-4 meter car which clearly indicates that the EcoSport is shorter that many hatchbacks in the market. This also proves to be the USP of the compact MUV, since its small design will help it maneuver easily in city traffic without losing the MUV charm. However, seeing the design of the EcoSport and it is hard to believe that the car is indeed that small. The exceptional design of the EcoSport is indeed a head turner.

The EcoSport’s top variant features stunning chrome adornments for the circular shaped fog lights as well as the air dam. The air dam of EcoSport looks like the mouth opening of this compact MUV and its styling is exceptional. The headlights look sleek and angular and beautifully complement the slim radiator grill which also has the Ford logo embedded on it. Above the mouth opening, the elevated bonnet lends a macho look to the EcoSport.

Interiors

The interiors of the Toyota Rush are designed intelligently. Among the various comfort features included in this SUV are various seating combinations like the two-seater casual mode, single seater stretch space mode, two seater spacious mode, six-seater mode and seven-seater mode. The interiors are also equipped with double folding feature, sliding seats and an additional foldable third seat. The leather wrapped A/T gate type shift lever along with shift lock, roomy dashboard with matte silver trimmed black analogue combination meter, dual blowing air conditioning, sleek steering wheel wrapped in three spoke leather along with switch controls, height adjustable driver’s seat, elaborate seat materials and a solar film sheath to block heat coming inside the car.

The interiors of the Ford EcoSport resemble to the all-new Ford Fiesta to a great extent. The short heighted gear knob and the three spoke steering wheel lend a classic touch to the EcoSport. The blue lighting on the instrument dials look stunning and also provide ease in reading. The interiors are done neatly in dual color design while the fabric and the plastic quality also resembles to that of Fiesta.
Both the cars will be strongly competing not just on the above features but also price point and the performance.
