Toyota Etios has satisfied millions of Indian’s with its exclusive style statement and voluminous interiors. The company is now geared to launch a cross variant of the car called Etios Cross. The Etios was launched to cater to developing nations like India; Toyota is now keen to push the car in Brazil.

The Etios sedan and hatch was showcased in Argentinean markets, car enthusiasts have now spotted a cross version of the car in the streets of Argentina. Sources have extracted information on the details of the car and announced that the spy car is built on Etios hatch platform. One feature to note which distinguishes the Etios hatch from Cross is the classy fifteen inch alloy fitted wheels, decorated in vibrant and classy colors of silver plastic and black. Another marked distinguishing factor is the rear spoiler and large roof bars.

The Etios cross is expected to hit Argentinean markets sometime in 2013, and will arrive with a powerful 1.5 liter flex fuel engine that will churn efficient engine outputs at 96.5 bhp and will cost Rs 11 lakhs. Those who are already excited with the characteristics of the car, it is still unclear on whether the car will hit Indian markets, but sources claim that the car might be launched for the Indian mass. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Etios cross is a more loaded version of the XLS variant of Etios, for a more up market appeal the car is draped in plastic with professional upgrades to deliver a false cross appeal. The car does sound like an exciting package, the first question that would emerge is the stiff competition that would arise, and the Indian spec Etios cross will compete with the newly launched Volkswagen cross. For Brazilian markets, some of its arch rivals will be Renault Sandeo Stepway, Hyundai HB20X and Volkswagen Gol Rallye. The cut-throat competition between Etios and Volkswagen Cross will surely be a hot topic of discussion mainly because there are not many cross models.

Toyota Etios Cross appears to be a trendy car; Toyota has introduced a grander version of XLS variant in the form of a cross. The whole purpose of the car being a cross is sufficient to gather herds of customers in showrooms, the excitement of a different atmosphere. The Etios is a popular figure on Indian roads, and common promotional models as well in malls and clubs. It is certain that the car will hit Brazilian markets, but an Indian launch is still unknown. With the overwhelming success of Etios, customers can expect the Cross to deliver superb sale figures. Toyota has recently launched the Xclusive versions of Liva and Etios to celebrate the grand success of both models. The Cross could also be a celebration car, this is another customer attracting factor besides the Cross symbol.

The competition in the hatch segment is heating up to sky rocketing levels, other established firms have or are in the process of unveiling new hatchbacks. The cut-throat competition between Hyundai i10 Grand and Maruti Suzuki Stingray is published in many car magazines and websites. The same will follow for Volkswagen Cross and Etios Cross.
